A 21-year-old Macon County man was killed in a forklift crash Tuesday morning on Beechnut Street, three miles west of Ethel, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The report said a Caterpillar Forklift was driven by a 19-year-old man heading eastbound when it crossed the center of the road and went off the opposite side.

The forklift overturned, and the 21-year-old male passenger was thrown out of the vehicle, according to the crash report.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to the Macon County coroner’s office, the report said.

The forklift had extensive damage, according to the report.
