AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - Another Valley high school student has earned a perfect score of 36 on the ACT.
John Check, a senior at Austintown Fitch, earned a perfect score, an achievement realized by less than 1% of the students who take the test.
Check has a 3.8 GPA, taking mostly honors, advanced placement, and college credit plus courses. He also plays Tuba in the marching band.
Check plans to major in creative writing in college, though he has not yet decided where he will attend.
Evan Brockway, of North Lima, earned a 36 on the exam taken in March — making him the second Ursuline High School senior in two years to achieve a perfect score. Last year, Adan Sheik achieved the top score.
