An arrest warrant has been issued for a Pierre Part man in connection with an Oct. 16 shooting involving members of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, according to Louisiana State Police.

Paul Blanchard, 60, was wounded in the shooting and remains hospitalized. When he is medically cleared, he will be booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on two counts of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, and single counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, hate crimes and aggravated burglary, State Police said in a news release.
