DOUGLAS COUNTY, Wis. — Two people were killed in a head-on crash Wednesday afternoon in northern Wisconsin.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said the drivers of both vehicles died after the two vehicles collided on USH 53 in Amnicon Township. Officials say the crash occurred just before 2:15 p.m. between Berg Park Road and Kent Road when a vehicle traveling northbound hit a southbound vehicle. The drivers were the sole occupants in the vehicles, the sheriff's office said.

Authorities have not yet identified the two drivers.
