SULPHUR, La. (KPLC) - For the first time, the Sulphur Senior Center hosted a breast cancer awareness walk, inspired by community members who are currently fighting the disease.

The center had dozens of seniors walking together in pink, showing that awareness has no age limit.

“We honor breast cancer survivors every year and bring awareness every year, but this is the first year we’ve done the walk. It’s because we have a lady in our center who’s fighting it now, so we really wanted to blow it up and let her know we’re with you, you are not alone,” Cynthia Beverly, Sulphur Senior Center Director, said.

The walk is one of numerous events throughout the area during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
