Imphal, October 22 2025: In a meaningful step towards environmental stewardship, a Tree Plantation Drive was organised on October 22, 2025 at the Company Operating Base in Chandrakhong, Thoubal district.

According to a release issued by the IGAR (S), the initiative, led by Assam Rifles brought together 38 personnel in a collective effort to promote ecological awareness and reinforce the importance of a clean and green environment.

The event unfolded with the planting of 250 saplings of diverse native and ornamental varieties around the operating base and adjoining areas.

Each sapling was carefully placed by the troops, symbolising a pledge to nurture and protect the natural heritage of the region.
