ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Workers could be seen removing a temporary security fence that had been erected around the federal courthouse in Rockford on Wednesday night.
The fencing was installed in the overnight hours of September 5th, at the Stanley J. Roszkowski U.S. Courthouse, at 327 S Church Street, which houses the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
The same weekend, security fencing was also placed around the Dirksen Federal Courthouse, at 219 South Dearborn Street in Chicago,
The installation of the fence at the federal building sparked concerns as it coincided with the deployment of U.S. Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in the Chicagoland area.
