The Department of Public Works invites the community to a public workshop in November, to learn about - and to provide feedback on - proposed updates to the City’s development impact fees.

The next workshop, part of the City’s public review process to gather community input on the proposed adjustments to the fees assessed on new development to help fund the infrastructure needed for the City’s continued growth.

The next workshop will be held on Monday, Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. in Shepard Hall at the Santa Maria Public Library, at 421 South McClelland Street.

According to information from Public Works, Santa Maria’s population — currently estimated at 112,000 — could grow by up to 30,000 residents by 2040. Accordingly, the City must prepare to meet the increased demand for public facilities
