LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - David Yates was appointed as Interim Jefferson County Clerk after longtime clerk Bobbi Holsclaw passed away. Now, the former Senate minority whip’s seat is left open and will be filled in a special election this December.
The turnaround time for this election is short, but both the Louisville Democratic Party and the Jefferson County Republicans are hitting the ground running, hoping to drive out the vote.
“It is a quick turnaround...our goal is voter outreach, of course. We want to be on the doors, knocking as much as we possibly can,” said Logan Gatti, chair of the Louisville Democratic Party.
