The arrival of new robots, especially to places like Amazon delivery centers, has sparked a big debate.
Some say they are stealing human jobs while others argue they’re creating a bigger market for human hires.
At the Milpitas delivery center, NBC Bay Area’s Scott Budman got a preview of the next generation of Amazon robotics called “Bluejay.”
A New York Times report cites documents that suggest Amazon will replace close to 160,000 humans with robots over the next few years.
Amazon calls the report “misleading,” saying it will actually need to “add” 250,000 full and part-time workers this year alone just to handle the demand for goods.
Scott Budman has the details in the video above.
