Christian Harlow of King’s Way Christian posted the best 18-hole round of golf by any high school golfer this fall — or perhaps in many years — Wednesday at the 1A district boys golf tournament at Tumwater Valley Golf Course.

The freshman shot an 11-under 61 to finish with a 36-hole total of 132, 12 strokes below par, to run away with 1A district title.

Blake Stephens of La Center placed second at 153, followed by Cameron Engel of Stevenson (158) and Caden Haapala (159).

Jordan Liou placed in a tie by seventh at 164, lifting King’s Way Christian to the team title, edging out Montesano 56.5-54. Team points are calculated by placing, not strokes, or the Knights’ win would have been more comfortable with Harlow’s massively low score.
