WEST ORANGE, Texas — A firefighter serving with both the Pinehurst and West Orange Volunteer Fire Departments has been arrested and charged with felony second-degree arson, according to a report from KOGT.
Officials said 32-year-old Travis Dupuy was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after allegedly throwing a flare from his vehicle onto several bales of hay along Irving Street in West Orange, across from West Orange-Stark High School. The act was witnessed by West Orange Assistant Police Chief Jessie Romero, who happened to be driving behind Dupuy, as reported by KOGT.
Dupuy was arrested after admitting during an interview that he had set the fire, KOGT reported. Firefighters from multiple departments responded to extinguish the blaze.
