LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
A Kentucky state representative has received her sentence for her second DUI in the last five years.
Democratic State Rep. Beverly Chester-Burton entered an Alford plea last week for a DUI charge stemming from last year. An Alford plea means Chester-Burton is not admitting guilt, but acknowledges there is enough evidence to convict her.
As part of the plea, she was sentenced to 10 days of house arrest and must pay $909 in fines. She also must complete an alcohol/drug education program and will be on probation for two years.
She was arrested in August 2024 in Shively.
