The Lake County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in a rape case from nearly two decades ago.

The brutal assault on a woman in her sixties happened 18 years ago Wednesday. It remained unsolved until the Sheriff's Office turned to genetic genealogy.

The Sheriff's Office arrested 49-year-old Larry Franklin Tucker Jr. The Sheriff's Office said Tucker had a criminal history too small to ever have his DNA entered into national databases, and they don't believe he knew his victim.

Tucker was living in Ohio when he was placed under arrest earlier this month, but the Sheriff's Office said he was living in Lake County around 2007.
