SHOSHONE COUNTY, Idaho — Shoshone County Sheriff Holly Lindsay has resigned as Sheriff following a traffic accident in her personal vehicle on Tuesday.

The Shoshone County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) announced on its Facebook page that Lindsay formally resigned from her position on Wednesday.

According to SCSO, the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) responded to a call for a hit-and-run crash that involved Lindsay.

KCSO says Lindsay was off duty at the time of the crash in her own vehicle. Deputies say Lindsay hit a fixed object and no injuries were reported. KCSO is currently investigating the scene and will deliver their findings to SCSO for review.
