CADDO PARISH, La. (KSLA) - A man from DeBerry, Texas, has been arrested for committing sex crimes against juveniles, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.

The Special Victims Unit of the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) conducted an investigation into the sexual abuse of two victims. Although the victims are now adults, the abuse occurred when they were between the ages of 13 and 14.

The offender has been identified as 67-year-old Walter Jeff Shadoin.

During the investigation, both victims reported incidents of sexual abuse and grooming involving Shadoin. He exploited his position as a family friend and mentor to isolate the victims and engage them in conversations about sexual acts on multiple occasions, according to CPSO.
