CINCINNATI, Ohio — When Joe Flacco arrived in Cincinnati via a trade from Cleveland, the veteran quarterback thought he knew what to expect from star receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. After all, he’d watched them from afar, seen the highlights, and understood their reputation as deep-ball specialists.
But what he discovered in his first weeks throwing to the Bengals’ dynamic duo left him genuinely stunned.
“The first thing that jumped out at me about both of them, honestly, was just their hands,” Flacco told reporters in his Wednesday press conference. “I know it sounds simple, but the way they catch the ball, the way they attack the ball when it’s in the air and then catch the ball with their hands is it’s very, very impressive.”
