Mountain View flag football is back in the Class 4A state championship game after defeating Pomona 13-12 in the semifinals Wednesday night at Jeffco Stadium in Lakewood.

The No. 2 Mountain Lions will face No. 1 The Classical Academy, who they defeated last year 26-0 to win the inaugural 4A title, at 4 p.m. Saturday at Trailblazer Stadium.

Against Pomona on Wednesday, Mountain View fell behind 6-0 in the first quarter before scoring late in the second period on a touchdown reception by Hayden Ramberg to take a 7-6 lead into halftime.

After a scoreless third quarter, Pomona took a 12-7 lead with 9:58 remaining in the game.

With 6:40 left, Keira Knowles completed a long touchdown pass to Charly Schuster-Moore to put the Mountain Lions ahead, 13-12.
