U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement reports three federal officers were injured during an operation in Clairemont on Wednesday.

It happened in the afternoon near Whittier High School. ICE says it was attempting to take a man from Kuwait into custody.

The man tried to get away in a car by driving away, when he hit the ICE officers and crashed into multiple government vehicles, according to the agency. He was then taken into custody.

An ICE spokesman says the man has a violent criminal history, as well as a final order of deportation from the U.S.
