OCTOBER 20
After the dramatic win over the Seattle Mariners, the Blue Jays are in the World Series for the third time in their 49-season history. By some weird karma, in all three Oct. 20 was a significant date and all were one-run victories. On Oct. 20, 1992, in the first-ever World Series game outside of the U.S.A., the Jays beat the Atlanta Braves 3-2, and then won the 1992 World Series. On Oct. 20, 1993, the Jays beat the Philadelphia Phillies 15-14, and then won the 1993 World Series. On Oct. 20, 2025, in the ALCS, the Jays beat the Seattle Mariners 4-3, and are moving on to play the L.A. Dodgers in the 2025 World Series. Maybe that pattern of Oct. 20 one-run wins in critical games is a sign of some fortuitous karma which will help boost the Jays to another World Series win in 2025.
