Dallas Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg (32) dribbles as San Antonio Spurs guard Stephon Castle (5) defends during the first quarter at American Airlines Center.

Top pick Cooper Flagg largely struggled and the Dallas Mavericks had no answer for 2023 No. 1 pick Victor Wembanyama as the San Antonio Spurs rolled to a 125-92 win in Dallas in the season opener for both teams.

Flagg had a slow start in his NBA debut, going scoreless in the first half after missing his first two shots. He would score his first career points with 11:42 left in the third quarter.

The rookie struggled to find his stride in the second half but did put together a double-double performance with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
