SANDOVAL COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – After some early problems, Sandoval County said its new 911 dispatch center is now taking all emergency calls. The county celebrated the facility's opening back in July, but technical problems kept it from fully operating. City of Rio Rancho dispatchers ended up taking a bulk of the calls as the county and its equipment vendors worked the fix the issues.
During Wednesday night's Sandoval County Commission meeting, County Manager Wayne Johnson said those problems were resolved. "Starting at 9:15 this morning, the center started receiving all emergency and non-emergency calls, so we are fully operational, fully functional, and receiving them," said Johnson.
Johnson also thanked city dispatchers for their help.
