SALT LAKE CITY — A power outage is impacting travel on 200 East in Salt Lake City. The Salt Lake City Police Department said the outage shut down traffic lights between 100 South and 300 South.

This outage could last for seven hours, according to police. Power was cut when a moving van that was backing up hit a power pole and knocked it to the ground.

By 1:45 p.m. MDT, northbound, southbound and eastbound traffic was shut down at the intersection of 200 S. 200 East.

Police said that westbound traffic on 200 South is being rerouted.
