NANAKULI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Ku’ulei Kamaka is just nine years old.

“They took away my father but I will still keep rising even through hard times like this,” she said through tears. “I love you dad.”

Her father, 38-year-old Korri Kamaka, was killed in a hit-and-run in Nanakuli Monday night .

Ku’ulei was one of Korri’s four children. Their youngest just turned a year old.

“He was such a good dad. He was such a loving husband,” his widow Fergielei Kamaka said. “I feel like other guys around him idolized who he was because of his character.”

The pair had been together since 2007. Fergielei is now facing the gut-wrenching reality of her husband’s death.
