LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - President Donald Trump says he’s approved $15 million in federal aid for storm recovery efforts in Nebraska.

In a Truth Social post , the president said he had spoken with Gov. Jim Pillen, calling Nebraska “a very special place.” The governor shared a screenshot of the post on his Facebook page .

On Sept. 5, Pillen requested aid for 12 counties — including Douglas, Lancaster, Saunders, and Washington counties — in the aftermath of major windstorms that blew through Nebraska in early August. The Nebraska delegation also sent a letter to the president in September, notifying him of nearly $40 million in storm damages that several counties had sustained Aug. 8-10.
