A rediscovered painting by Picasso was presented at the auction house Drouot in Paris on Wednesday, two days ahead of its auction.

The "Bust of a Woman in a Flowery Hat" was painted in July 1943 and was bought in 1944 by the grandfather of the actual owner the painting has not been on the art market since.

"It's a painting that speaks for itself," said art expert Agnes Sevestre-Barbé.

"You just have to look at it; it's full of expression, and you can see all of Picasso's genius."

One of the most important artists and painters of the last century Picasso is also one of the most expensive painters ever sold at auctions with several paintings exceeding 100 million dollars.

His highest selling piece is Les Femmes d’Alger (“Version O”) sold at Christie's New York in 2015 for 179 millions of dollars.

Christophe Lucien, the auctioneer didn't want to give a public estimation but he confirmed the high interest of art collectors in the sale.

"The entire world is interested in this work; it's being talked about in all the world capitals with a strong art market, from the United States to Asia, and of course through all the major European markets."
