While paying tributes to deceased leaders, Veeri remarked that late BJP leader Ramesh Arora belonged to a “communal party.” “Although he was secular but belonged to BJP and had affiliations with RSS. He was part of a communal party,” he claimed. The comment drew strong objections from BJP members, prompting the Speaker to intervene.

Rather asked Veeri to refrain from making objectionable comments about deceased leaders. “Such references to departed leaders have never been made in the Assembly,” BJP leader Sham Lal Sharma said. Follo
