Former Stockton child care director accused of stealing nearly $500K

A former executive director of a Stockton-area child care organization is accused of embezzling nearly $487,000. According to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, 53-year-old Cecilia Warren allegedly stole funds from Creative Child Care Inc. between January 2023 and September 2024. The investigation began when the San Joaquin County Office of Education reported suspected financial misuse. Warren was arrested and booked on embezzlement and grand theft charges, then later released. The organization says it is moving forward and seeking justice.
