President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday unveiled the bust of former President K.R. Narayanan at Raj Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram.

Addressing the gathering, President Murmu described K.R. Narayanan’s life as “a story of courage, perseverance, and self-belief,” highlighting how he rose from humble beginnings to occupy the highest constitutional office in the country.

She said Narayanan’s academic excellence and dedication reflected the transformative power of education and determination. Before entering politics, Narayanan had a distinguished diplomatic career in the Indian Foreign Service, where he upheld India’s values of peace, justice, and cooperation.

“Throughout his public life, Shri Narayanan remained steadfast to the principles of fairness and inclusion,” the President said.
