1992: Michael Jordan’s name surfaced during the drug and money-laundering trial of convicted cocaine dealer James “Slim” Bouler . Jordan initially said a check to Bouler for $57,000 was a business loan. Under oath, Jordan acknowledged the check was payment for gambling losses.
2005: Paul Konerko hit the 18th grand slam in World Series history and Scott Podsednik — who didn’t hit a home run in 507 regular-season
