MEMPHIS - The New Orleans Pelicans lost to the Memphis Grizzlies 128-122 Wednesday night at the FedEx Forum. It’s just one game, so no need to overanalyze it. But here are five things we learned in the season opener.

1. Zion looks the part

Zion Williamson said and did all the right things this offseason. But the only thing that really matters is what he does on the court. He filled up the stat sheet Wednesday, finishing with 27 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals.

He started slowly, but got going in the second quarter.

The most impressive number may be the one that was in the minutes played column (33:28). He only had one game last season when he played that many minutes.

“He had a monster night for us,” Pelicans' coach Willie Green said.
