YOUNGSTOWN Ursuline High School and officials from the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown are seeking to block a federal court from granting plaintiffs early access to the personal identification details of students named in a civil lawsuit. The defendants argue that releasing such records before the main legal proceedings begin would violate federal student privacy law and is unnecessary for the case to move forward.
The opposition comes in response to a request from the family identified in legal documents using the pseudonyms Mother Doe, her children, Son Doe, and Daughter Doe, who are suing the school over a high school football team trip in June 2025 that allegedly involved hazing, physical and sexual abuse, and alleged cover-up by school administrators.
