It’s not unusual for Amtrak to restore some of its discontinued routes. For instance, in August, the company launched its Mardi Gras Service , which replaced the once popular Sunset Limited, which had to be canceled due to the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina.
Yet, Amtrak is not getting the same praise after reintroducing a popular route that was discontinued in 2024. According to a press release published on New York State’s official website, on Monday, 20, New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced that an Amtrak service connecting New York City and Albany would finally be restored.
However, Amtrak passengers aren’t sold, as people are now criticizing prices and the frequency of the service.
