BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The Kiwanis Club of Bowling Green presented its first AmTryke tricycle to a child, designed for children who cannot ride a traditional bike because of physical challenges.

“Every single bike is custom-ordered and tailored to meet the standards of the recipient of the bike," said Mariah Hughes-Ortega, vice president of the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club

Amelia Webster, 7, who has cerebral palsy, received the bike Wednesday. Samantha Webster, Amelia’s mom, said her daughter has had several surgeries to help with her diagnosis.

“We’ve worked hard; we’ve worked very hard, but she is still not able to ride a ‘normal’ bike," Samantha Webster said.
