PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Tourism brought $6 billion and 29.4 million visitors to Rhode Island in 2024, according to the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation.
These figures represent a new record for the Ocean State, with a quarter of the tourist money being spent at restaurants.
One in eight jobs in Rhode Island stem from tourism, and 1,900 positions were added last year in that industry.
Newport County accounted for the majority of out of state visitors according to the report.
