A large tree came crashing down overnight near several homes in Malden, Massachusetts.

Malden police and fire departments were on Prentiss Street early Thursday morning, where the tree appeared to have caused minor damage to two homes.

There was no immediate word on any injuries.

Pictures from the scene showed the tree split in half, falling into the front yards.
