STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Social Security Administration’s Office of the Inspector General is warning Americans to keep a keen eye on any communication from the U.S. Supreme Court.

Scam texts, letters, and emails are claiming to be certificates from U.S. Supreme Court Justices Sonia Sotomayor and John Roberts that “urges individuals to cooperate with the named SSA official, pressuring them to send money or share personal information,” according to a statement released by the OIG.

Furthermore, the communication accuses the recipient of being “a primary suspect in connection with legal proceedings and criminal charges” after discoveries made by the Social Security Administration and the “Drug Enforcement Agency.”

The real DEA stands for the Drug Enforcement Administration.
