STEUBENVILLE — Coaches will often say something along the lines of “we want to be playing our best at the end of the season.”
The Catholic Central football team has certainly taken that to heart.
After going on the road two weeks ago and giving the No. 5 ranked team in the state all it could handle, Central went to Conotton Valley last Friday and scored a season-altering 48-30 victory.
The Crusaders entered the game sitting on the playoff bubble in Division VII, Region 27, sitting in the 12th and final playoff spot. The victory over the Rockets jumped Central up seven spots to fifth place. While it did not clinch a playoff spot, it does give Central the potential to at the least earn a home playoff game and even have an outside shot of getting a first round bye with a victory on senior
