WESTFIELD, Ind. -- One person was pronounced dead after a reported crash near Westfield on Wednesday evening.

According to a series of posts on social media from the Westfield Police Department, a serious crash closed northbound U.S. 31 just south of 191st Street around 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

In a statement provided to FOX59/CBS4, officials with the department said that two vehicles were involved in the crash. One person was pronounced dead.

After that portion of U.S. 31 was impacted for more than three hours, all lanes reportedly reopened around 1 a.m. on Thursday.
