DES MOINES, Iowa ( KCCI ) - A regular baseball game became a once-in-a-lifetime moment for one Ankeny teen.

Fourteen-year-old Aiden Scott had the honor of throwing out the first pitch at the September 19 Iowa Cubs game.

After the pitch, Scott went in for for a big bear hug with the team’s general manager, Randy Wehofer.

Scott was representing Easter Seals of Iowa , a non-profit that supports people with disabilities. Scott is diagnosed with down syndrome.

“I always shake everyone’s hands or do high fives and all the sudden he’s just hugging me like we won the world series,” Wehofer shared. “And he wasn’t letting go and it was great!”

The Iowa Cubs are calling it the most memorable moment of the season.
