The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office has been named in a lawsuit over the death of an inmate.

Documents show 61-year-old Bobby Norman died from chest pains and hypertensive atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease in October 2023.

His estate says that he required medicine to manage his blood pressure, which was on the booking report.

His family says several phone calls were made to the jail to complain that Norman wasn’t receiving the medications he needed.

Quality Correctional Care, the company that provides healthcare to the jail, is also named in the lawsuit.
