A police sergeant filed a discrimination lawsuit against the Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department on Tuesday, claiming she has been punished for exposing the alleged misuse of union funds, mocked for requesting a restroom for women, and accused of binge-watching “The Sopranos” at work.
Sergeant M. Mosca, one of two women on the 16-member force, claims in court papers she has been discriminated against for more than a decade because of her gender.
“Preferential treatment has been provided in the promotional process and in selecting officers for training and duties to suit favored male officers,” Mosca states in the lawsuit, filed in Superior Court of Bergen County.
Borough officials did not immediately respond on Wednesday to a request for comment on the lawsuit.
