Bill Belichick and UNC football will get their first shot at taking down a ranked opponent in the 2025 season with No. 16 Virginia coming to Chapel Hill in Week 9.
In the 130th meeting of the "South's Oldest Rivalry," the Tar Heels (2-4, 0-2 ACC) will welcome the 16th-ranked Cavaliers (6-1, 3-0) to Kenan Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 25, for a noon kickoff (ACC Network) at Kenan Stadium.
It'll be UNC's first game against a ranked team since beating No. 12 Miami in 2023 at Kenan Stadium, but the Tar Heels have lost four of their last five games against top-25 squads. The last time the Tar Heels hosted a ranked Virginia team, the Tar Heels earned a 7-5 victory against the 23rd-ranked Cavaliers in 2005.
