A woman is dead after a car “likely struck” her in North Portland early Thursday morning, police said.
Responding to a “person down” report, officers arrived in the 2600 block of North Marine Drive at about 1:30 a.m. and found the woman dead. The driver left the scene before police arrived and has not been located, the Portland Police Bureau said.
North Marine Drive is closed between Force Avenue and Portland Avenue as the police’s Major Crash Team investigates.
The woman’s name has not been released.
