CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Mecklenburg County courthouse employee was charged with a misdemeanor for bringing a weapon into the Mecklenburg County Courthouse on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
The gun was found inside employee Adrienne White's purse when it passed through the X-ray scanner at the entrance security checkpoint.
White was arrested and the weapon was seized.
Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office reminds everyone that bringing a weapon, especially a firearm or knife, is illegal.
“Once again, bringing a firearm or any weapon into the courthouse is not only illegal, it’s reckless,” Sheriff McFadden said. “We take these violations seriously because this building is a place where emotions often run high. One mistake or poor decision can put dozens of lives at risk. Our priority is and always will be
