First Nations creatives will be speaking fire on Saturday as they come together to celebrate survival, resistance and Blak brilliance.

Curated by Gomeroi poet and storyteller Rob Waters, the event is a space for deep discussions, performances, speaking the truth and most of all, to listen.

Moments of discomfort may occur as those on stage share their work, but hearing uncomfortable truth and having honest and open conversations is what the country needs, Mr Waters said.

"Mob have been telling the truth forever," he told AAP.

"We need truth-listeners. They want to close the gap, I know one gap you can close - it's your mouth.

"We've got a mouth that closes and ears that don't ... we should remember that and sit down with people and listen to learn."
