A broken-down train between Bristol Temple Meads and Taunton is causing major rail disruption across the south-west this afternoon (Thursday), according to travel reports.

National Rail reported the incident at 2.40pm on Thursday, October 23. The train reportedly broke down at Bridgwater in Somerset.

CrossCountry services from Plymouth to Newcastle, Glasgow Central, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, as well as between Paignton and Manchester Piccadilly, have been affected.

The disruption is also affecting Great Western Railway Services from Cardiff Central to Exeter St Davids, Taunton, and Plymouth.
