Michigan has seen a week of windy weather , so much so, that Lake Erie's waters sloshed back and forth like water in a bathtub.
" A fascinating natural phenomenon is happening today (Oct. 22) on Lake Erie — a seiche," PutInBay.com said online on Oct. 22. "If you’re not familiar, a seiche is a sudden and dramatic change in water levels caused by atmospheric conditions like strong winds or rapid changes in air pressure."
On Wednesday, Oct. 22, the National Weather Service in Detroit issued a low water advisory for western Lake Erie due to significantly low water levels that could cause navigational issues for mariners.
Strong steady winds and gusts up to 40 mph pushed waters toward the east end of the lake, causing Lake Erie's shorelines to retreat exposing beach. PutInBay.com encou
