McDonald's has axed a fan-favourite item from its menu, with customers said to be fuming as a result.

The Bacon Roll has been taken off menus across the UK, with McDonald's website sharing how the roll is "gone, but not forgotten."

Maccies' breakfast item was popular with those looking to grab a quick breakfast before work or school, featuring three rashers of bacon in a soft white roll with either ketchup or brown sauce.

And it appears the change did not go unnoticed, as diners took to social media to range about the change.

One person wrote: “No way have Maccies actually got rid of the Bacon Roll meal from the menu and not said owt?!”
