A 34-year-old man suspected of robbing an AM/PM convenience store in Indio was arrested, authorities said Thursday.

Ramon Alexis Salazar of Coachella was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside Wednesday on suspicion of robbery, according to the Indio Police Department.

His bail was set at $30,000.

The crime was reported shortly before 11:30 p.m. Saturday at the store located at 41910 Jackson St.

Police said a man entered the store and demanded money from the cashier, who complied and gave him cash from the register.

The suspect fled the scene in a red Toyota Camry. No firearms were seen during the robbery, according to Sgt. Abraham Plata.

Authorities identified Salazar as the suspect, and he was arrested shortly after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the city of Riverside
